Monroe-It is with regret and warm wishes that the Monroe Chamber Board of Directors announces the retirement of Sue Nicholson, President and CEO of the Monroe Chamber. Nicholson will remain in her current position until her successor is appointed. The Monroe Chamber Board of Directors has initiated a process to identify Nicholson's replacement and intends to have someone on board by the end of May. Nicholson is the second longest serving president in the 120-year history of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and is the organization's first female CEO.
Monroe Chamber of Commerce Opens Search for New President
Monroe- The Monroe Chamber of Commerce has announced a nationwide search for its next president/CEO. The Chamber will be accepting resumes from qualified applicants through March 10th and anticipates announcing the new CEO by mid-April. The incoming president & CEO will replace current Chamber leader Sue Nicholson, who led the organization starting in 2005. Nicholson will remain on staff through May 31 to assist with the transition.

The President and CEO of a chamber of commerce is a key representative and advocate for business owners and employers in a community. According to the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, there are about 3,000 independent U.S. chambers with unique goals determined by diverse groups of members. Despite differences, all chamber Presidents work to promote and strengthen their communities by building prosperity through a healthy economy and a strong business sector.
