Good Monday to all – another beautiful day in Monroe.

This is always exciting time for everyone as we wind summer up and prepare for the fall and back to school. A good time to remind everyone to Shop Local. Back to School shopping is a huge part of our retail merchant’s business as well as the city sales tax revenues. It makes sense to shop local and support local. We have a big week with area Young Professionals. Tomorrow at our Young Professionals Luncheon, ULM Athletic Director Scott McDonald will be talking about all things ULM athletics. Thursday evening, we host 60 emerging business leaders at our annual 20 Under 40 Awards reception. Don’t worry about our future, we are blessed with a great group of new leaders who love our area. Our Leadership Class had a great session last Wednesday led by the Amazingly Awesome Alberta Green and hosted at Ascent. Thank you, Alberta, and thank you Brady Middleton.  August 23rd, we join the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber in hosting a regional chamber summit at Louisiana Delta Community College.  Vision on Education is next week, and our annual Golf Tournament is just around the corner. Your technology committee has been very busy and has set October 27th for a Cyber Security workshop. More information to come on that.  A HUGE Thank You for supporting the chamber and all our programs. A great time to be in Monroe, La.
