Happy Monday from BEAUTIFUL Monroe, Louisiana. This city is “HOT” in many ways! Thank you for your continued support of your chamber and our region. You saw from our committee reports last week, things are very busy. Our city is “HOT”, there is a buzz and an excitement about the direction we are going – next week you get a chance to hear firsthand how “HOT” things are  from Mayor Ellis and Ouachita Police Jury President Shane Smiley. Your Chamber host the “The State of Local Government” on Tuesday July 26th at 11:30 at the Civic Center. I urge you to come to this meeting. Last Friday we completed the nomination process for our Top 20 Under 40 nominations. 57 emerging leaders in our community have been nominated. That is a tremendous number and the nominations are outstanding. The 20 Under 40 event will be August 11th. On August 16th Dr. Vidrine, Dr. Coker and Ashley Ellis gives us education updates locally and from the state. Part of what YOUR Chamber does is bring elected officials to you to hear firsthand updates and we celebrate our city.

Here are a couple of articles and events that ran last week you might find of interest.
